Job Description

Position Title: Deputy Project Director

 

Office/Department: Planning, Development and Estate (PDE)

 

Position Purpose:

Deputy Project Director will support the Project Director in overseeing the planning, design, and execution of the NSU campus development project at Purbachal. This role is responsible for coordinating all technical, financial, and administrative aspects of the project to ensure timely delivery within approved budgets and quality standards. The position plays a critical role in aligning project implementation with institutional goals by managing stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and proactively addressing risks to achieve successful project outcomes.

 

Key Responsibility:

 

Deputy Project Director works closely with the PD. He reports to PD and his key responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Assist Project Director in planning, Design and execution of project related to NSU campus at Purbachal.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all phases of assigned projects to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare periodic reports, and present updates to the university authority and set a deadline.
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and government agencies for smooth project execution.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain project documentation and records in accordance with university and donor guidelines.
  • Manage project budget and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
  • Act as key point of contact for field level operation in coordination with supervision teams, partners, contractors etc. for day-to-day implementation of project activities.
  • Represent PD as and when necessary.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Authority.

Academic Qualifications: Master’s degree along with a BSc in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

 

Skill & Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in project management, preferably in higher education, development, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bangla (both written and spoken).

Age: Not exceeding 50 years.

 

Salary: NSU policy (Negotiable)
