Position Details:

• Designation:Senior Officer (Taxation & VAT)
• Number of Positions: 01 (One)
• Experience Required: Minimum 10 years of proven experience in Taxation and VAT functions in a reputed organization, with the ability to work independently and  handle Income Tax and VAT matters
• Age Limit:  40- 45 years
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Educational Qualification: Four years Bachelor with Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance from reputed university.
• Professional Qualification: Income Tax Practitioner (ITP); CA (Partly Qualified) prefered.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of all monthly, quarterly, and annual tax and VAT returns in compliance with applicable laws
• Maintain proper documentation and records to support all tax filings and disclosures
• Facilitate and expedite resolution of pending tax assessments and appeals with the Deputy Commissioner of Taxes (DCT) and other authorities
• Manage tax audits, assessments, and inquiries, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents
• Liaise with Tax, VAT, and regulatory authorities to ensure effective communication and compliance
• Review financial transactions to ensure correct application of Tax and VAT provisions and identify potential risks
• Ensure full compliance with prevailing Tax and VAT laws, rules, and statutory requirements in Bangladesh
• Strengthening internal controls and improving processes related to tax and VAT compliance
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on tax matters and regulatory updates
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on University operations
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management in line with organizational requirements.
