Position Description
Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated individual to develop and implement advanced bioinformatics tools and pipelines for analyzing data from state-of-the-art sequencing technologies, such as Illumina MiSeq and nanopore sequencing. This role is particularly suited for a candidate with a strong foundation in statistics having interest in applying their skills in a computational biology setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain bioinformatics tools and workflows for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide statistical expertise for data analysis and experimental design.
- Train team members in the application of statistical methods in computational biology, with a focus on Machine Learnign Approaches.
Academic Qualifications:
- MSc in Statistics is required; particularly with coursework or experience in Bayesian methods.
- Programming proficiency in R, Python, Perl, C++, Java, or a similar language.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal for effective collaboration and training
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in training or teaching statistical methods, particularly in a computational biology context.
- Knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis of large biological datasets.
Age Range: Ideally 25-32 years.
